Co-World Symbiosis with the Digital

In an era deeply intertwined with digital technology, our connections to the world are being reshaped. The three works in this exhibition—spanning emotional companionship, knowledge acquisition, and ways of working—concretely illustrate this shift: algorithms and data are no longer cold tools, but active “agents” that participate in and shape our daily experiences. They guide children through recovery, transform history into play, and redefine the nature of labor.
This points to a deeper reality: humanity is entering a new form of collaborative relationship with the technological forces it has created. We are no longer the sole center of the world, but instead share our environment with new actors—including algorithms and applications—in mutual influence. Here, “design” becomes a vital act of translation and negotiation, seeking to find a new balance in the digital age between convenience and emotion, efficiency and meaning.

Participating Artists: Yujia Ke /Jingyi Wang

Milo Project Overview (English)
Milo is an AI-powered companion app designed for children undergoing long-term hospitalization. Through emotional interaction, gentle task reminders, and imaginative AR experiences, Milo supports children’s mental well-being throughout their medical journey.
For kids facing chemotherapy, post-surgery recovery, or extended treatments, Milo becomes a loyal virtual pet who offers comfort, encouragement, and playful interactions. Accessible through mobile devices or the iWatch, Milo chats with children, plays mini-games, and provides warm reminders—like taking medicine at 10 a.m.—making daily medical routines less intimidating and easier to follow.
Milo observes emotional cues and interaction patterns, offering timely comfort and positive reinforcement to help children better understand and express their feelings.
Its innovation lies in combining AI emotional companionship, personalized micro-interventions, and imaginative AR play. For example, Milo can generate a small virtual flower that kids can “place” anywhere in their hospital room, transforming a sterile environment into a space full of magic, creativity, and hope.
Recognized for its deep empathy toward pediatric emotional needs and its thoughtful interactive design, Milo was awarded the 2025 Red Dot Design Award.
More than an app, Milo is a source of courage and warmth—helping children stay hopeful, resilient, and smiling a little brighter every single day.
